Karen & Andrew were married at 13:30 on Saturday 8th March 2014 at Clearwell Castle in Gloucester http://www.countryhouseweddings.co.uk/clearwell-castle/

I had the pleasure of meeting Karen at her home in Winchcombe back in January. It really was an honour to be approached by Karen as she is also a make-up artist who had been watching and admiring my work from a distance.  Karen was tempted to do her own make-up however like any female for her wedding day wanted to be pampered along with her bridesmaid too.

For Karen’s Bridal look we used Illamasque’s Skin Base Foundation, Mac’s prep and prime concealer, Charles Fox Contouring pallet, Chanel’s eyeshadow pallet in Beiges (A fantastic pallet ocntaining a warm and a cool brown, an apriot and an ivory highlighter) smoking the eye with A graphite Khol pencil as its a little softer that a black or brown from Chanel. Then making sure we applied a waterproof Black Mascara just incase there were any tears to her top and bottom lashes to making her eyes pop.  As her flowers and bridesmaids dress were in a deap wine colour we deided it would be a fantastic oppertunity to encorportate this colour onto the lips which really worked with Karen’s colourings. For her lips and cheeks we used Illamasques Belladona lip and cheek whilest highhlighting the cheek bones with Mac’s golden highlighter.

I had the fantastic pleaure of working alongside a fantastic hairstylist Sandie from Bella Bridal hair based in Gloucester http://bellabridalhair.co.uk/

“Karen had settled on a half up half down with soft curls for her wedding day hair. On the morning of the wedding I arrived at Clearwell Castle and set up on Karen’s hair first. Starting off with applying Loreal Pli all through her hair, this is a fantastic 2 in 1 spray that acts as a heat defensive and setting lotion in one which really helps the curls last so much longer than normal. I worked the curls into Karen’s hair with my trusty straightening irons and once cooled I gently raked my fingers through the hair to separate and soften the curls. I placed her tiara and then added some back combing to create height in the crown area which also helps the tiara really stand out. Finished off with some dainty diamonte pins placed in the back of the hair”. Sandie Bella Bridal Hair

I received this lovely message from Karen: “I would just like to say a big thank you. My make up was beautiful, completly flawless and stayed that way all evening. Anne (My maid of honour)’s make up also looked beautiful she was really happy and requested that I pass over her Thanks. You really are one tallented & clever lady – I shall always highly recommend you, Thank you xxxx”
