Karen & Andrew were married at 13:30 on Saturday 8th March 2014 at Clearwell Castle in Gloucester http://www.countryhouseweddings.co.uk/clearwell-castle/

I had the pleasure of meeting Karen at her home in Winchcombe back in January. It really was an honour to be approached by Karen as she is also a make-up artist who had been watching and admiring my work from a distance.  Karen was tempted to do her own make-up however like any female for her wedding day wanted to be pampered along with her bridesmaid too.

For Karen’s Bridal look we used Illamasque’s Skin Base Foundation, Mac’s prep and prime concealer, Charles Fox Contouring pallet, Chanel’s eyeshadow pallet in Beiges (A fantastic pallet ocntaining a warm and a cool brown, an apriot and an ivory highlighter) smoking the eye with A graphite Khol pencil as its a little softer that a black or brown from Chanel. Then making sure we applied a waterproof Black Mascara just incase there were any tears to her top and bottom lashes to making her eyes pop.  As her flowers and bridesmaids dress were in a deap wine colour we deided it would be a fantastic oppertunity to encorportate this colour onto the lips which really worked with Karen’s colourings. For her lips and cheeks we used Illamasques Belladona lip and cheek whilest highhlighting the cheek bones with Mac’s golden highlighter.

I had the fantastic pleaure of working alongside a fantastic hairstylist Sandie from Bella Bridal hair based in Gloucester http://bellabridalhair.co.uk/

“Karen had settled on a half up half down with soft curls for her wedding day hair. On the morning of the wedding I arrived at Clearwell Castle and set up on Karen’s hair first. Starting off with applying Loreal Pli all through her hair, this is a fantastic 2 in 1 spray that acts as a heat defensive and setting lotion in one which really helps the curls last so much longer than normal. I worked the curls into Karen’s hair with my trusty straightening irons and once cooled I gently raked my fingers through the hair to separate and soften the curls. I placed her tiara and then added some back combing to create height in the crown area which also helps the tiara really stand out. Finished off with some dainty diamonte pins placed in the back of the hair”. Sandie Bella Bridal Hair

I received this lovely message from Karen: “I would just like to say a big thank you. My make up was beautiful, completly flawless and stayed that way all evening. Anne (My maid of honour)’s make up also looked beautiful she was really happy and requested that I pass over her Thanks. You really are one tallented & clever lady – I shall always highly recommend you, Thank you xxxx”

Alexandra & James

Alexandra & James Married at 15:00 on Saturday 22nd February 2014 at the amazing Eastnor Castle in Worcestershire http://eastnorcastle.com/

It was a crisp but dry day and the sunshine was out – Perfect.

I arrived at Eastnor Castle at 11:00am Kevin was already with Alexandra’s rollers in for me.

Alexandra had a soft romantic feel dress and wanted both her and her sister (Who was her bridesmaid) to compliment each other. Kevin Saris http://www.passionateabouthair.com/ created soft gentle romantic waves in Alexandra’s hair pinned up and off her face to show the detail of her dress and make-up. Where as her bridesmaid opted for a loose gentle curl half up and half down.

Alexandra was not used to wearing alot of make-up and was feeling a little aprehensive about having her make-up done. However working through her images at her trial and gaining a full understanding of her concerns she selected a soft neutural romantic eye making a emphasis on her eyeliner and lashes and a soft nutral lip. Whereas she decided her bridesmaid would like a little more definition around the eye so we introduced the Navy of her dress in with her eyes to smoke them up a little.

Thank you for all of your hard work and patience with me and my sister at the trial and on the day. You are the only person who almost got me to cry, with your sage words, as i left the room!! I managed to keep my composure for the rest of it. I also wanted to say to you that you made it so easy for me to ask you to change my make up and alter things slightly, in order to make things perfect. Thank you!

We had a really special day, much gentler than I had imagined it to be but I am glad for it as I feel like I can remember more of it than if it had been more frantic! I think all of our guests had a great time too – we finally turned in at 4am!

I suspect that you are starting to be really busy with weddings now and weekends are no longer your own. I have recommended you to a few people who have been in contact with me.

Thank you once again for everything
